There are people who have experienced so much that genuine wonder has become a rarity. Our client was one of them.
Under the Stars
The Brief
When we first spoke, it was quickly clear: this wasn't about square metres or parking spaces. It was about something much more personal. About a collection that had accompanied a lifetime. About vehicles with stories behind them. And about a person who didn't just want to put it all away – but to honour it. The space was an old stable, an outbuilding of a manor house, two levels, with a lot of history.
Collector's garage with a starry ceiling, illuminated turntable, and a sun-like lamp
The task was not technical. It was an emotional one.
How to create a place that can still amaze someone who is rarely surprised?
We stopped thinking about garages. And started thinking about feelings. About the moment you walk into a room and simply pause. About the quiet wonder that washes over you before you even understand why.
Thousands of little lights, laid by hand, star by star on the ceiling. A fitting that doesn't illuminate the space, but enlivens it. Six vehicles, each in its place, calm and confident. A turntable that glows in the floor like a planetary ring. And behind glass: a long table, dim lighting – a place for evenings that run longer than planned.
